What's the one part of your book that's been sitting untouched the longest and why do you think that is?

For those who have published a book already, what was the timeline for editing? And how many editors did you hire (developmental, line editing, etc.)? I'm trying to work my timeline backward to give myself a writing deadline.

A character in my story is trying to calm someone down, and his voice goes up at the end of his sentence. "Uptalk" is what google says it is, but I feel like that's not a commonly known thing. How would you explain it?
