Seeing God Clearly & Seeing Ourselves as His Beloved
Let’s reflect on something powerful today: How we see God....and how He sees us. In Scripture, God calls His people beloved. In Hebrew, words like יָדִיד (yadid) and דּוֹד (dod) carry the meaning of dearly loved, cherished, and deeply desired. This is the language of closeness and delight. Look at the picture in Song of Solomon 6:10: “Who is this who shines like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars?” Now remember: in Genesis 1:27 we are told we are made in God’s image. Here's what I want you to see: If God sees His beloved as radiant and glorious like this, it reveals something about His true heart and identity toward us. Discussion: When you think about how God sees you, what comes to mind first?
The God You Were Taught vs. The God You’re Discovering
Let’s have a real conversation today. Many of us were introduced to God through other people’s interpretations — through church culture, family expectations, past relationships, or even painful life experiences. And sometimes those experiences shape the way we see God in ways that aren’t always true to His heart. Some women grew up seeing God as loving and present, others experienced Him as distant, disappointed, or hard to reach. But healing often begins when we allow God to reintroduce Himself to us, not through religion or performance, but through relationship. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 So today I want to ask you something deeper: How has your view of God changed throughout your life? This is a space for honesty, healing, and restoration. 💬 Share your story in the comments. Even a few sentences about your journey with God could encourage another woman who is still finding her way back to Him. You never know who needs to hear your testimony today. 💕
Midday Pause
Take a moment to pause and reconnect with God. Healing your relationship with God doesn’t always require fixing something, sometimes it simply means returning to His presence. Take one quiet minute and ask Him: “God, what do You want to say to me right now?” Sit with Him for a moment and listen. Reflection: What word, thought, or feeling came to you during that moment with God? Share it below if you feel comfortable.
