Many of us like little self-care DIY projects. @Angela Caccioppo gave us a recipe awhile back. Here's another: From the video below: t TBSP wax (soy or beeswax) 2 TBSP shea butter Melt in a double-boiler Add 2 2 TBSP sweet almond or olive oil 15 drops essential oil if desired (they used sweet orange) Pour into containers, cool 10 minutes Similar recipes: This easy shea butter lip balm recipe uses soy wax for a creamy, plant-based (vegan) formula. Combine 1 tbsp soy wax pellets, 3 tbsp shea butter, and 4 tbsp coconut oil (or sweet almond oil) in a double boiler until melted. Remove from heat, stir in 8–10 drops of essential oil (like peppermint or lavender) and tsp vitamin E oil, then pour into tubes or tins. Another similar recipe Simple Soy Shea Lip Balm - 1 tbsp Soy Wax Pastilles (or pellets) - 3 tbsp Shea Butter - 4 tbsp Coconut Oil (can substitute with Almond Oil or Olive Oil) - tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional, for longevity) - 8-10 drops Essential Oil (optional: orange, lavender, vanilla, or whatever you like) Instructions 1. - Melt: Combine soy wax, shea butter, and coconut oil in a heat-safe bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method). 2. - Combine: Heat until the soy wax is completely melted, stirring occasionally. 3. - Add Ingredients: Remove from heat. Once slightly cooled, stir in the vitamin E oil and your chosen essential oils. 4. 5. Pour: Carefully pour the mixture into lip balm containers or small tins. 6. Set: Allow the balms to cool and solidify completely at room temperature (about 10–20 minutes) before capping. 7. Tips: - Texture: If the balm is too soft, melt again and add more soy wax. - If it is too hard, add a little more oil. - Color: You can add a small chunk of natural lipstick or beetroot powder while melting for a subtle tint. - Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. This recipe usually makes about 15–20 small containers. -
