Reflection: The End of the Inner War
Much of suffering comes not from events themselves, but from our resistance to them. We argue with reality, demand different outcomes, and exhaust ourselves fighting what already is. In doing so, we become our own greatest adversary. There was a time when every day felt like a battle—against circumstances, against other people, and against myself. Yet no amount of struggle could force life to bend to my will. The harder I fought, the more peace slipped away. Tranquility begins where resistance ends. I cannot control other people. I cannot control every outcome. I can only govern my own thoughts, actions, and character. When I accept what is outside my control and focus on what is within it, I regain my freedom. Today, I choose acceptance over conflict. I will meet life as it is, not as I wish it to be. I will release the urge to fight every inconvenience, every setback, and every fear. Peace is not found by conquering the world—it is found by mastering myself. Reflection: What am I resisting today that would bring me peace if I simply accepted it and responded with wisdom instead of struggle?
