Sifely Lock WiFi Signals - (2nd Gateway)
I have been running Sifely Locks for over 2 years. Today I have one that is dropping off occasionally due to decibel-milliwatts level too weak. The failing lock is over negative 90 dBm.
The recommended max WiFi signal strength (measured in dBm) is no weaker than -70 dBm. Anything below -80 dBm is generally unreliable or unusable. I have 2 of the 4 homes that are 2 stories. Both have locks that are on a single gateway and have over -90dBM signals. For the most part it has worked and it just takes 10 seconds or so longer to change codes. My latest basement house has fairly sizeable concrete walls and today I have one lock that is flaking out occasionally losing the gateway. I am going to purchase a 2nd gateway for the basement locks and just run 2 gateways.
I just thought I would share this in case any of you are using Sifely locks and have this issue in the future.
