A Mid-Run Conversation 🏃🏻♂️
The other day, I went for a 3 mile run. About halfway into my run, I saw a gentleman walking in the same direction that I was heading, on the same side of the road as me. When I saw him ahead of me, I had a desire to stop to talk to him — but I also wanted to keep going and complete my run! As I got closer, I gave him a shout out so as not to surprise him that I was coming up from behind him. He turned to say hello. I couldn't help but slow down and start to walk next to him, ask what his name was, introduce myself, and have a little bit of small talk. Then I said. "You know, Stephen, is there anything I can pray for you for today? Jesus has completely changed my life, and I want you to know the Hope that I have in Him." His response to me telling him that God hears our prayers was, "I hope so." Hearing those words left my heart yearning for him to know with CERTAINTY the God who made him and loves him and does hear his prayers! I then proceeded to share the Gospel with him and ask him if he was interested in taking a step of faith to believe in Christ. He said he wanted to and said he finds himself needing to see the evidence to know that it's real. I encouraged Him, and pointed to the proof of God's existence and power through nature and all of creation. And I prayed for him that he would experience God in an undeniable and personal way. Pray for Stephen that he would encounter the Lord and know Him personally!
