Winding this group down (and where to find me)
Hey everyone, Quick update. I'm winding down this Skool group this week. The work my team and I are doing is more focused now. It's for senior corporate recruiters who want to launch their own recruiting business while keeping their 9 to 5. That's a specific person, and we've found that Skool isn't really where they spend their time. If that's you, or you just want to keep up with the content, two places to find me are YouTube where I'll be continuing to post weekly videos on how to get recruiting clients, pick a niche, and run sales calls. Or LinkedIn of course where I'll share daily posts, same topics, shorter form - Thanks for being here, appreciate it. Feel free to DM me this week if you have any questions and thanks for understanding. Jon

Starting a sales call with a hiring manager
If you've wondered how to nail the first few minutes of a call with a prospective recruiting client, I think you'll get a lot of value from this video! In this episode, I break down the first 3 minutes of a hiring manager call: the Opening and Connection. The rapport skills that made you a great corporate recruiter are likely the same skills breaking rapport on your hiring manager calls. Not because the skills are wrong. Because they were built on the wrong side of the table. You'll learn: The frame shift that separates peers from vendors Why candidate rapport and hiring manager rapport are not the same skill The 3-step opening you can run on any hiring manager call Step 1: The greeting and LinkedIn reference Step 2: Set the frame for the call Step 3: Ask what they want covered By the end, you'll know exactly how to open a hiring manager call so you come out of it sounding like a peer, not a vendor.
