Weekly Challenge is Back!
I've been thinking we should bring back the weekly challenge, so here it is 😁 This week, the challenge is to PAUSE. Using the acronym PEACE, try to incorporate this each day for at least 5 minutes. Pause Exhale Acknowledge / Accept Change Engage Check into this thread daily this week to keep accountability. This is where REAL RECALIBRATION happens - when we make conscious decisions to observe our thoughts and not cling to them. Do this practice outdoors if you can. Just 5 minutes! Who's in?!

Resilience - A Type 2 Feeling
Morning team 🙌🏼 Today I have resilience on my mind. Resilience is a key term I hear thrown about a lot at the moment, particularly in educational settings and it has me wondering if people really understand it or do they just use the word because it's the 'in' buzzword. Resilience, at least to me, is about the ability to get through adversity and push on. It's a mindset. It's not something you feel at the time but realise after when you have processed and reflected on the adversity. I've struggled on and off with low mood and anxiety since around 17 and the only thing I have found useful at finding calm but also challenging my mindset is the outdoors. Below is an image, I'm 17 and walking up my first proper 'hill'. It was a low mood day for me and whilst the outdoors helps, it can still be a real struggle. I found this day a struggle, I wasn't particularly 'up' for the walk or learning as this was a walk as part of my college course. I pushed on though, took it in steps: •Get into the building, at least then you're present and it's harder to say no •Speak to at least 1 person in the class - distraction technique to attempt to change the mindset •Get kit organised & help others to do so - giving back makes us feel good. •Focus on each step and breathe deeply. Help the brain to notice the small things and start producing the happy hormones. Only after, did I realise that day I was resilient. We are not our thoughts, being present and having coping strategies can support us in times of need. The type 2 thing is because at the time it was a difficult day, lots of struggles emotionally BUT I enjoyed it after the fact. After reaching the summit, returning to the minibus and allowing my nervous system to adjust. I'd had a brilliant day. Do you have a moment where you've noticed your resilience? I'd love to hear it and share with the group to normalise resilient behaviours.

Flowing Thoughts
A reminder today, to look at your thoughts similar to a river. Let them flow through, take notice, acknowledge if need be, but don't take them on unless they are helpful. Categorize them if needed into helpful and unhelpful.

Fractals for Wellbeing & Weekly Challenge!
Happy Wednesday folks, I've recently been reading into fractals and how they can support our wellbeing. You can view fractals in many different ways, however, as outdoorsy types, the best way is through nature. Fractal viewing has been linked to stress reduction, the increase in alpha brain waves and supporting positive mood. I've put together this infographic, I hope it helps. Weekly Challenge: This week's challenge is to head out and view / photograph some fractals in your area and come back and share in this thread 😁
