There is so much going on in our world, how can I continue to make progress on the path to my best life?
This alignment doesn't just happen on its own. Actually, without conscious awareness of where we are at and where we're going, we will drift. And we don't drift into alignment, we drift into chaos.
The daily practice of writing has been critical for making progress and focusing my attention. Through attention, I set my intentions every single day.
I wake up, I get my tea or coffee and I get my pad and pen. (You can use pure phone or computer if you like, I just like the pen on paper) Some days I'm inspired and I'm really in tune with my innermost self and the universe. Some days I feel numb and blocked but I still show up and I write down how I'm feeling and if I continue writing past where I think I need to stop I push past that point. Then amazing things start to come up.
Sometimes I write with the prompt. Sometimes I write with a stream of consciousness straight from my thoughts to the page. Sometimes I write about what's going on in my life. Sometimes I write about what I want to happen in my life. Sometimes I reaffirm where I'm going and who I am. Some days I'm feeling negative and I do not write that down. I actually reinforce the positive and find gratitude on those days.
Why do I write? To feel better. To be happier. To make progress. To take inventory.
