Welcome!
We're so excited to have you here, truly. Think of this as the parent lounge where it’s totally fine to snack on your kid’s leftovers and admit that sometimes dinner is just hummus and crackers. We’ve all been there. This space is about raising kids vegan without losing your mind (or our sense of humor). Share wins, swap rescue meals, and commiserate about the in-laws who ask “but where do they get their protein?” for the 47th time. 👉 To jump in, copy/paste this: “Hi, I’m __________. I have ____ kids. My go-to rescue meal is __________. Here’s a pic of my happy place / snack stash / favorite kid face.” Let’s do this! Compassion, community, and a lean into the fun side of the chaos of being a parent on any given day. 💚🥑 Our friends at The VegHealth Institute are kindly going to run things for us, here. They're good people with almost 20 years experience and expertise in vegan and vegetarian eating and life. On behalf of all of us, we can't wait to get to know you and about your journey, wherever you are on the parenting rollercoaster. 🥗🥑🥒🫘🍇🥜

Back-to-School Scripts for Vegan Parents: What to Say to Teachers, Coaches, Friends & Family
Back-to-school season is exciting, but let’s be real — it can also feel like running an obstacle course when you’re raising vegan kids. New teachers, new routines, birthday parties, sports snacks… and endless conversations where you find yourself explaining (again) what your child eats, what they don’t, and how to keep them included without making it a big drama. Here’s the thing: you don’t need a debate kit in your back pocket. You just need a few calm, clear scripts ready to go. That way you’re not scrambling for words in the moment, and you don’t feel like you have to justify your parenting choices to every teacher, coach, or curious grandma. Use these as-is, tweak them to your style, or even copy/paste them into a text or email. They work. **1. Teachers & School Staff** Quick intro email:“Hi [Name], just a quick note about [Child]. We’re plant-based. For any class tastings or snacks, we’ll provide a swap. If you’re unsure, a quick text with a label photo works great. Thanks for helping us keep it easy.” Snack/treat reminder: “We skip meat, fish, eggs, and dairy, but [Child] eats fruits, veggies, grains, beans, tofu, nuts/seeds, and plant milks. If you’re planning a class treat, we’ll always send a swap so they don’t miss out.” Cooking/science activities: “If food is part of an activity, please let me know so we can send a swap. That way [Child] can join in fully.” **2. Coaches & After-School Activities** Team snacks:“ We pack [Child]’s snacks since we skip dairy/eggs/meat. If you want something that works for everyone, fruit or pretzels are perfect.” Hydration:“We bring our own drinks. Just water refills needed.” **3. Birthday Parties & Playdates** Host parent note: “We’re plant-based, so [Child] will bring their own cupcake/snack. Please don’t stress — they’ll be thrilled just to join in.” Practicing with your child:“If someone offers you something that isn’t vegan, just smile and say, ‘No thanks, I brought my own.’” Kid-to-kid explanation:“We don’t eat animals. We eat plants instead — like beans, tofu, pasta, and fruit. Want to trade snacks?”

This mini-course was designed to give parents instant confidence. In just six bite-sized lessons, you’ll have a clear, practical plan for raising strong, healthy, happy vegan kids. It’s short enough to finish in an evening, yet powerful enough to calm the “Am I doing this right?” worry that almost every parent feels. Here’s what you’ll get inside: ✅ The three non-negotiables every vegan child needs (and exactly how to cover them) ✅ A simple daily plate guide for toddlers, kids, and teens—no calorie-counting, no stress ✅ Quick red-flag checklists so you’ll know when to relax and when to get curious ✅ Calm one-liners for naysayers (because debates at playdates aren’t fun) ✅ Tiny, doable actions you can start today that give big peace of mind ✅ Pocket-ready strategies for picky eaters, school lunches, birthday parties, and sports Why It's for Even Long-time Vegan Parents You might think you’ve got this all figured out—after all, you’ve been vegan for years. But feeding kids is different. Growth spurts, picky phases, school pressures, and endless snacks can throw even seasoned parents off balance. The mini-course gives you: - A chance to double-check your foundation (so you’re never second-guessing). - Up-to-date science on nutrients like vitamin D, omega-3s, and iodine (yes, even some long-time vegans are surprised here). - A calm structure for meals that makes the whole family’s life easier—not just the kids’. - Tools to help you communicate clearly with teachers, coaches, and grandparents. It’s not about perfection. It’s about patterns, peace of mind, and knowing your kids are thriving. Why This Matters Now Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been plant-based for decades, confidence is contagious. When you feel grounded in your choices, your kids feel it too. They grow up not just on a vegan diet, but with pride in it.
