Lessons Learned from Hiring Editors the Past two weeks
Whats up ya'll – the last couple of weeks I had to hire editors because our workload got crazy. We had so good (and bad) things result from this & I just want to share it with you quickly.
  1. Giving footage to an editor with no direction can be hit or miss. Try your best to explain clearly with references what you are looking for
  2. Ask them to send you the first 15 - 30sec of the video to make sure you are aligned. This saved me hours on the back end.
  3. If you can't give a clear vision - make the revision process plain by giving them your top adjustments/tweaks. its better to get an important 6 changes out the way vs 72 changes that rebuild the whole video
Have any of you hired a new editor to edit something for you? What insights can you add?
