Didn’t Win to open for 4b and why it’s okay
Hey Guys! Last week, I asked the community to tag me in 4Bs post to be the opening slot for his show at the American Dream Mall. I thought I’d give it a shot, and then was actually shocked by the amount of tags I have gotten. 4B and I know eachother, and I saw that I had Deffinitly gotten enough tags for him to see my name, and maybe believe I’d be the right person for the slot. I did not win, but came in 3rd. As much as I would have loved to win and play the show, it’s okay. From this I learned a couple things. It opened my eyes that there actually are people out there who follow me and my music, enough to the point that I was able to crack the top 3. I learned that I have a foundation of supporters - family, friends, casual listeners, weekly viewers of my Twitch stream. I learned that if I continue what I’m doing (producing, streaming, supporting other artists), That foundation will continue to grow, and I can win something like that in the future. I learned that I was close but not close enough. And need to reflect and fill in the gaps that’s missing. (More networking, more social media, more + even better music). When you break it down like this, goals don’t seem that impossible. I’ve had my handful of broken promises, missed opportunities, screwovers ect. So to my younger producers I just want to say to keep buckling down, because you may be further along than you thought. You just may need to work a little harder but keep pushing!
