Monthly Payroll Tips
I’ve been on a monthly payroll for the last 12 years, and I know it can feel uncomfortable at first. But with the right plan, you can actually make it work to your benefit.
Here are four tips that have helped me over the years:
  • Pay bills early. Don’t wait until the due date—get them out of the way so you know what’s left.
  • Set weekly limits. Break your money into weeks so you’re not out of groceries by week 2.
  • Automate savings. With so much happening on payday, automation guarantees you don’t skip this step.
  • Use your calendar. If an event costs money, it should be in your budget.
Getting paid once a month can feel uncomfortable, but it’s absolutely manageable with a plan.
What helps you get through each pay period?
