Research help request - confirming concept viability

Hello,

Looking for advice on manually checking the strength of your book's potential.

PF has confirmed a concept, but I'd like to check its chance of succeeding - demand v supply.

Does anyone have any tips / guidance / references (youtube videos?) on how to do this?

Looking for "rules of thumb" that people might have successfully used themselves to evaluate the market, such as BSR v number of titles selling v number of titles overall - reviews?

I'm concerned about going into a market where there are too many similar titles (even though PF has helped to find potential points of differentiation).
