Hug the Sonic spectrum
@Gilde Flores reminded me of something I kind of let slip away in my music production journey. When creating music, especially for TV, there's a certain way to produce that meets the expectations of major companies—they have their style and sound preferences. But amidst all the technicalities and guidelines, it's crucial not to forget the parts that truly "hug" the sonic spectrum. These elements bring warmth, fullness, and a sense of belonging to the music—reminding us that at the core of production, it's about emotionally connecting with the listener and bringing the sound home. Never lose sight of that balance between professionalism and the soulful touch that makes music resonate. Hope this reminds and helps anyone else on their journey.
Stem Question For The Technical Experts Here
Hey guys - I'm still a novice at this whole sync thing and in the middle of bouncing stems for a project and have a technical question. The stem headroom should be between 3-4db minimum un-mastered. Do you all look at that as the TOP range of headroom for a track? On the drum stem, for example, it's going to increase in volume going into a new section and then maybe drop out for a verse to give it some breathing room. So am I looking to reach the 3-4db at the loudest part? Or are a few peaks above that range OK if the majority of the track doesn't exceed it?
last day for the Spitfire 50% sale
Hey all! BANK50 will get you 50% off on select spitfire plugins and tonight is the last time to use this code. Also, if you have the spitfire chamber strings, you can get the professional version for just 150 which is pretty amazing too!

Desert Island Plug-Ins
Since we're all somewhat gear nerds to be in this business, I'm curious as to the top 3 or 4 plugins that you cannot live without? I think for me, they'd be: - Serum - Kontakt 8 - Ozone 11 - CLA Guitars
Sample Management Best Practices
I’m curious how you all manage your sample libraries and more importantly, your “go-to” samples for kick, snare, transitions, etc. I work in Logic and been using Waves Cosmos sample manager and starring the ones I use, but renaming annd organizing isn’t ideal. I’ve experimenting with just a simple folder system where I’m renaming them for easy recall and can access them easily in my Logic session. But interested to hear what some of you veterans are doing to stay organized.
