This Is Where Experienced Marketers Still Slip Up
You’re Losing Your Best Traffic First
I keep seeing this with people you’d assume have this handled.
Big names.
FHL speakers.
Brands that are clearly doing a lot right.
Their ads work.
Their bio links work.
Funnels convert.
But type the domain directly into a browser..
and you hit an error page.
That’s not casual traffic.
That’s someone who remembered you.
Someone who chose to check you out on purpose.
Late-stage. High-intent.
And when that moment turns into friction..
trust drops.
Uncertainty creeps in.
They back out.
No complaint.
No attribution.
Just gone.
The good news is this is easy to fix.
Here’s the simple setup I recommend.
First..
point your nameservers to Cloudflare.
Cloudflare will automatically handle http and https
so you don’t lose traffic to protocol issues.
Second..
create a redirect rule that forces non-www traffic
to www.
and make sure it preserves query string parameters and values.
That part matters.
Once this is in place..
every version of your domain resolves cleanly.
Typed-in traffic lands somewhere real.
High-intent visitors don’t hit dead ends.
This isn’t an ad fix.
It’s not a copy tweak.
It’s treating your domain like part of the funnel.
Because it is.
When someone types your name instead of clicking..
that’s not curiosity.
That’s trust asking to be confirmed.
