Holiday breaks can be wonderful… and also wildly dysregulating for little nervous systems. Transitions, late nights, different routines — all of it adds up. We added a short, teacher-friendly handout that helps families: - keep routines predictable without being rigid - support regulation when emotions run high - make the return to school smoother for everyone It’s designed so teachers can explain it at pickup in under a minute, and families can actually use it (not just read it once and forget it). If your team is looking for a gentle way to support families without adding to teachers’ plates, this is an easy win to share before break. 👉 Find Holiday Break Routines for Little Ones in the Playbook Exchange → Classroom tab Sometimes the smallest, most consistent supports make the biggest difference.

Conversation Framing Cards — for December drop-offs & pickups This week before break is full of extra noise, unfamiliar activities, changes in routine, and tired bodies—kids and adults. These quick frames help you keep parent conversations calm, contained, and supportive. We added Conversation Framing Cards to The Playbook Exchange. (Find it under the Classroom tab above.) It’s a tiny menu of frames (not full scripts) so staff remember the shape of a calm conversation without carrying a whole paragraph in their heads. If you’ve got a phrasing that works at your site, please post it so other directors can borrow it.

Rhythm makes ideas stick. Simple beats = steadier focus. We’ve added a Classroom Rhythm Toolkit resource to The Playbook Exchange under the Classroom tab. It’s a menu of beat patterns and movement rhythms you can drop into lessons (math, literacy, even lunch). If you have a song, chant, or beat that works at your site, please post it in The Playbook Exchange so other directors can benefit too.

Executive Function = getting started, holding a step, stopping, and switching plans. We’ve added a three-page EF Red Flags — Quick Look to The Playbook Exchange for you to share with staff. It’s a heads-up list (not a diagnosis): notice what you see and look for patterns over time—where, when, and how often it shows up. Have something that’s working at your site—a one-pager, checklist, or visual you created? Please post it in The Playbook Exchange so other directors can borrow it. Short and simple is perfect.

*You'll find this resource within the Classroom tab (above). Scroll down to find The Playbook Exchange and click on it. We're building a resource library. We'd love for you to contribute to build out the resources that you find valuable. Just send me a DM with the resource link and I'll add it into The Playbook Exchange. 🚩Today's resource is a quick look for your teachers to learn to spot sensory red flags. 🚩 Use it as a heads-up list (not a diagnosis): notice what you see and look for patterns over time—where, when, and how often the behavior shows up. And a good reminder for everyone: Sensory signals are information, not misbehavior. 🩷
