September 24th 2025 update on Justin
Justin has been off the vent for over 21 hours and they have lowered his oxygen from 65% to 40%! 🙏 He's not following commands, but he's active more and is only sleeping about 30 minutes at a time. Thank you to everyone who has prayed and shared Justin's journey. Prayers are powerful and our God is mighty! 💙🙏💙
Update on Justin
Justin’s Update 💜 It has been a very intense couple of weeks, but we continue to see God’s hand at work in Justin’s life. He had a rough night before surgery with his oxygen and heart rate dropping, but the doctors were able to stabilize him. Because of fluid in his left lung, they performed a bronchoscopy and removed quite a bit. They also decided to move forward with a tracheostomy and PEG (feeding) tube to give him a more long-term solution. This way, once he is stronger, he’ll be able to transfer into rehab. The surgery went well, though there was a little bleeding in his neck that was quickly controlled. He has been kept sedated at times, but they are carefully working to bring him back around. His heart rate has been up and down, but the doctors found a good balance of medications that is helping. He did need a blood transfusion after his hemoglobin dropped, but he has been responding steadily. In the past few days, we’ve seen encouraging signs: Justin has opened his eyes, looked around the room, and even seemed to respond when we were talking to him. Physical therapy has begun working with him—sitting him up in the bed and getting him moving as much as possible. The next big steps are weaning him off the ventilator and eventually working with speech therapy so the tracheostomy and feeding tube can be removed. He was even awake for a longer stretch recently and seemed to pay attention when Ryan (his brother) told him about the Cowboys game. 🏈 We know this is going to take time, patience, and continued prayers, but we are holding onto hope. We cannot thank everyone enough for the meals, visits, and most of all, the countless prayers. Please keep lifting Justin up before the Lord as he continues this journey of healing. “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” – Matthew 19:26 🙏

Update Justin 9/23/25
Prayers are definitely working!! Lots of changes today! They removed the breathing tube from the trach and he's having to use his lungs a little more so they increased his oxygen up to 65%. He's doing good at coughing the secretions out and sometime today they're going to remove the catheter to see how he does. His fever fluctuates between 99- 100° so they have fans on him to help keep him cool. He's opening his eyes more, licking his lips and moving his tongue around but he's still not following commands.

Prayers for my Nephew Justin
Justin was in a car accident on his way to work this morning around 130 am and was airlifted to Harris Downtown. Right now he's stable but in critical condition. He has some bleeding and swelling in his brain and we're waiting for the CT results to come back. They have lowered his sedation to try and wake him up but so far he's not opening his eyes like they want him to. He does squeeze our hands and does sudden movements and his pupils are reactive. What we know about the accident is that he hit a pole that went through the windshield. The street sign was right by his face so he had to get stitches on the right side by his ear and he has a small broken bone there also. Please pray.
