Powerful collection of Scriptures
Hope is not based on what you see. Hope is based on Who God is. When depression whispers, "Nothing is changing," God's Word says: - "The Lord Himself goes before you." (Deuteronomy 31:8) - "The eternal God is your refuge." (Deuteronomy 33:27) - "The Lord turns my darkness into light." (2 Samuel 22:29) - "Anyone who is among the living has hope." (Ecclesiastes 9:4) - "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted." (Psalm 34:18) - "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy." (Psalm 126:5) - "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." (Isaiah 40:31) - "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace." (Romans 15:13) One thing I noticed is that many of these verses don't deny the existence of trouble. David spoke of calamity, enemies, tears, broken hearts, and despair. Yet in every situation, God remained faithful. David didn't say, "I never had problems." He said: "A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." (Psalm 34:19) That means your current circumstances are not the final chapter. A Daily Confession Against Depression "Father, I thank You that You have not left me and You will never forsake me. You are my refuge and my strength. You turn my darkness into light. My hope is in You alone. Though I may walk through trials, You are sustaining me. You are healing my broken heart and binding up my wounds. I cast every care upon You because You care for me. I will wait upon the Lord, and You will renew my strength. I choose to believe that You are working all things together for my good. I receive Your peace, Your joy, and Your hope today. In Jesus' name, Amen." And one verse that really stands out for this season of your life is: "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." (Psalm 27:14) Notice that God doesn't just promise an answer. He promises strength while you're waiting. Keep speaking these Scriptures out loud. Faith comes by hearing, and one of the most powerful voices you will ever hear is your own voice declaring God's promises over your life.
