God has perfect timing
Published May 31 2024 Yesterday, I was at Dollar General, and of course, they don't have any more self-checkouts because of people stealing, so there was only one cashier trying to do it all. I was waiting in line, near the back, and it was a pretty long line. There was a lady at the register who kept having her daughter get other things she had forgotten, which was making it take even longer. We were all just standing there, and I was thinking to myself, "How long is this going to be?" But I'm patient, so I just stood there. Finally, the line started to move forward after that lady left, and I was second in line. It had been about 20-25 minutes of standing in line when a woman came up and asked, "Can I cut in front of you? I'm having some stomach issues, and I need to get these patches for pain. I've got to get out of here; I'm not feeling too good." At first, I thought, "Well, everybody else has to stand in line just like I did for 20-25 minutes," but I didn't say that to her. Instead, I said, "You know, it's something the Lord would do, so go ahead, ma'am." She thanked me and purchased her items. After I made my purchase and left, I saw the lady waving to me outside. I said, "Ma'am, I would like to pray for you if you don't mind." She agreed, so I started to pray for her stomach, asking for it to be healed. I spoke life over her from head to toe. She thanked me, and I left, heading to my van. As I was about to leave, she drove over to me and said her stomach felt so much better—there was no more pain, it was completely healed. We discovered that she attended a church I used to go to, and we talked for a while about the Lord and how good He is. I told my wife that sometimes, things we think are bad are actually for someone else’s benefit. If I hadn't been standing in that line for so long and left earlier, that lady wouldn't have come in and asked to cut in front of me, and I wouldn't have had the chance to pray for her. God’s timing is always perfect. That’s something I’m trying to remember in my life—to look at things through the lens of the Lord because He always has the perfect timing and situation. So, the next time I find myself in a place where it seems like it’s taking forever, I’ll remember that the Lord might have set it up that way for a reason, and I could have the opportunity to touch someone’s life.
