Why training in the morning is a game changer for me
A lot of us in this community are millennials—30s, 40s, even pushing into our 50s. Careers are demanding, family life is busy, and yet there’s still that fire to feel and perform like an athlete again.
The problem? By the end of the day, energy is gone. Deadlines, kids’ activities, and life in general usually win.
That’s why I’m such a big believer in morning training. It’s not always easy to roll out of bed and move, but the payoff is huge:
  • Consistency sticks. You get it done before the day can throw curveballs.
  • Energy and focus rise. Training early fires up your brain and sets you up for a sharper day.
  • Better control over fat loss and muscle retention. Especially important as metabolism naturally slows with age.
  • Improved sleep. Evening workouts often mess with rest—morning sessions help regulate your rhythm.
  • Lower stress baseline. You start the day with a win and carry that mental edge everywhere else.
For millennial athletes trying to balance careers, families, and fitness, morning movement is a simple shift that changes everything.
Curious—how many of you here already train in the mornings? And if not, what’s been the biggest barrier to trying it?
