Here's something that will give your nostrils a jolt...
Might want to cover your nose for this one. Chad here... A service provider I know just got a text from their top client. "We need to cut back what we're paying each month." His crime? He lacked programming skills. Most service providers would immediately: Learn new skills. Stack new services. Offer free stuff. In their mind, they were walking in with a dozen long-stemmed roses. Presenting them to clients with a flourish. "Look what I brought you!" Meanwhile the client's staring at a cellophane-wrapped turd. Same shiny wrapper. Same big bow. Still a turd. Because the thing that service providers kept polishing up? It's the exact thing clients are scrambling to get rid of. Turns out there's one skill that flips this whole thing. Makes you smell like roses to them. I laid the whole thing out in my latest post. Hello PiggyBANKERS! I hope this lovely Saturday is going swimmingly for you. I'm considering a potential bonus where I... Work with someone still stuck in service provider / freelancer mode... Who have clients they work with monthly and... They want personal help to move from trading time for money to deal making... Without completely burning down their current income stream while they make the transition. The goal would be finding the easiest path towards partnership income based on their situation. My bonus won't do PiggyBANKERS any good if no one is in that situation. So, before I waste another sentence... Can you let me know where you're at right now? Let's get piggy wit it, PB Chad P.S. "Who am I to be helping this guy?"
That was the voice in my head at 8am yesterday. By 9am something flipped. Chad here... A fellow deal maker asked me to ride along on a coffee date yesterday morning. He didn't feel he had the experience yet. Funny thing? Neither did I. The voice in my head piped right up: "Who am I to be helping this guy? I'm no Tony Teegarden." Tony wrote the book on this. He's gone with me on a few of my coffee dates and I watched him lead the dance. Closing deals so smooth it looks like breathing. Me? I've bumbled my way through a few coffee dates. Some better than others. Long story short... I did it anyway. And then something happened. It turned into one of my best coffee dates yet. Not too soft. Not burned. Almost golden brown. Just like a good piece of French toast. Here's what I'm learning. I've been making French toast for about a month. Mastered cooking eggs. I wanted to see if I could master French toast. First piece? Mushy in the middle. Last piece? Charcoal. Five batches later, I've got control. Golden almost every time. Coffee dates cook the same way. The soft ones and the burned ones aren't failures. They're the reps that teach your hands what golden feels like. Two guys who didn't feel ready flipped a good one yesterday morning. Because we turned on the stove instead of talking ourselves out of it. Tony's done millions in deals since 2015. The best time to start was back then.
