Assignment #12: Escape into the light
One of my first "macro shots" with extension tubes.
I found this little guy on my Christmas tree and he tried to jump away, unfortunately directly in my flash diffuser cap. Of course he didn't give me much time in there, but lucky me I had a flashlight nearby to make his eyes shine and this shot was my last attempt before he used my concentration for taking the picture and managed to escape over the edge.
Over all I really hate spiders, especially big ones, but small ones weren't really on my mind most of the time, they don't scare me or something. I often just killed them if they were in my house at the wrong spots. But when I took this photo and saw the details of this creature close up, I couldn't kill one since then. I recognized that these "dots on my wall" are really fascinating creatures if you look closely and they are in fact living beings of our world.
Thanks to Florian Dzula, I found this perspective of life and new type of photography.
Have a nice day!
