Custer’s last Stand or Indians Last Stand?
Was George Custer, only living 36 years, a hero even though he lost overwhelmingly at the battle of Little Bighorn? George Custer was a Commander during the Civil War who fought at Gettysburg in 1863, pivotal win, but… His USA 7th Cavalry LOST to Crazy Horse and 3 Indian tribes: Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes in 1876 in Montana. However…,1st, not all 700 men were killed, 268 were, including Custer 2nd Congress would drastically increase the troop numbers for future engagements with Indian tribes. In reality, this was THE INDIANS LAST STAND of being victorious on the battlefield! This marked the end of significant Indian victories against American Forces. The Indian battles were TRUE WAR and the Colonists and American forces WON UNCONDITIONALLY, leading to the Indian reservations of today. I added a message monument made to honor Crazy Horse who defeated Custer, but surrendered to US forces in 1877, the next year.
