Emotion Coaching
Today, coaching for kids was all about tuning into our bodies to recognize when our "alarm system" is going off. Recognizing what our individual typical response is. Then digging beneath the anger or shut down to what emotions are really going on inside our mind and body. We used physical representations to learn about our brains, we acted out dramatic stories, and we did mindful exercises of scanning our bodies. Next week we will practice identifying feelings and saying them out loud (terrifying 👻).

Spirit Sunday
These are images from my hike with my dog today. I needed to be away from the house and the limitations of people for a bit. I found myself held, in all my divinity and humanity, in my greatness but also my smallness and flaws, by heaven and earth. I was reminded of a power beyond our own. I was reminded that I am loved and that I have a part in this great masterpiece. And Godly power will see me though it. Psychological research tells us, that spirituality, a person's sense of purpose, connection to others, and beliefs about the meaning of life, has an important impact on well being. Where does spirituality fall in your household priorities and how do you help your teen/s develop it?

Coaching happening Monday!
Don't forget, "Kids Get Coached" every Monday at 7 pm! This is for kids age 11-18 and I teach kids through activities and stories, self regulation, communication, and pushing themselves (with grace) to achieve goals. This week, I'll be going over how to tune into their bodies and their emotions and then how to use techniques to self regulate and then communicate their needs appropriately. Log them in on Monday at 7!
