🎨 Welcome to Creative First Aid: Start Here!
I am so glad you’re here. If you’ve ever felt like the world was a bit too loud, your brain was a bit too busy, or your heart was a bit too heavy—you’ve found your people. Why this space exists: As a paramedic, I spend my days dealing with high-stakes first aid. But I quickly learned that the physical body isn't the only thing that needs tending to. We carry a lot in this life, and sometimes words aren't enough to process it. I started turning to creativity as my own form of first Aid—a way to decompress, find quiet, and make sense of the chaos. This community is an extension of that. The Golden Rule: Process > Product In this group, we do not care if the art is "good." We care that the art is real. • This is a No-Judgment Zone. • Perfectionism is the enemy of healing. • Whether you’re a pro artist or haven't picked up a crayon since 3rd grade, you belong here. 🚑 Your First "Treatment" (Action Steps) To get started and unlock your first level in the community, please do these three things: 1. Introduce Yourself: Comment below! Who are you, and what "creative medicine" do you usually reach for? (Drawing? Crochet? Journaling? Making a mess?) 2. Check the Classroom: Head over to the Classroom Tab to see our current "Creative Kits" and low-pressure exercises. 3. Post a Messy Photo: Go to the main feed and post a photo of your current project or even just a scribble. No filters, no perfect lighting. Just show us you're here. I’m honored to walk this path with you. Let’s get to work on the things that make us feel human again. — Traz
Starfall
Tonight I felt overwhelmed by thoughts of inadequacy. Demons in my own mind telling me that i am not enough. I decided to drown them out by picking up some oil pastels and creating my interpretation of a scene from a book i was listening to recently. I am so thankful for art.

Narrating away the blues
Tonight I am spending an hour narrating someone else’s book. This takes my mind off my own stresses and allows me to completely immerse myself in another world. I get to play other characters and delve into a universe away from the traumas of my own. Not that we should ignore our traumas or push away our feelings, but sometimes it is okay to completely focus on something entirely outside of ourselves. Do you have anything that removes your mind from stress if only for a brief time?
