Feedback on my "I'm thinking about" post
Thank you and for a great first session in the Package Builder program.
Here is my post... I'd love some feedback from you both, and anyone else who might like to share your expertise in getting new packages and offers out there into the world. (, )
Thank you in advance. 😊
I’m thinking about developing a new workshop and would love your input.
I often hear leaders of volunteer engagement say things like:
“People don’t want to volunteer anymore.”
“No one wants to commit.”
“We get lots of interest, but people drop off.”
“Recruitment feels harder than it should.”
But when we look a little closer, the issue isn’t always people’s willingness to contribute.
Sometimes it’s how easy (or hard) our systems make it for them to say yes.
So I’m exploring a new workshop called:
Make It Easy to Say Yes: Designing Volunteer Participation That Works
The session would explore where volunteers disengage along the pathway — from first enquiry to onboarding to first shift — and how small shifts in design can make it easier for people to get involved and stay engaged.
Participants would work on their own programs and leave with practical tools to:
• identify where volunteers drop off or disengage
• design lower-effort, high-meaning opportunities
• make small, realistic adjustments to existing system
• assess whether roles are easy for people to step into
I’m thinking the first version would be a 2-hour online workshop, capped at 12 leaders of volunteer engagement, so we can keep it practical and discussion-based.
Before I finalise it, I’d love to have a quick chat with a few people doing this work every day.
• Does this speak to the challenges you’re seeing right now?
• What would you want a workshop like this to help you solve?
If you’re open to sharing your thoughts, drop a comment below or send me a DM. I’d really value your perspective.
