Interviewer: J2 isn’t just another business brand. There’s weight behind it. Before we talk tactics or offers...let’s talk belief... At the core… why does J2 exist?
1. THE WHY (FOUNDATION)
Interviewer: Take us back before J2 had a name. Before the frameworks. Before the community. What problem were you personally facing that made this inevitable?
Interviewer (follow-up): Was there a moment where you realized: “I can’t keep doing life and work this way anymore”?
Interviewer (deeper): What did it cost you...mentally, physically, emotionally...to stay stuck where you were?
2. IDENTITY: HUSBAND. FATHER. ENTREPRENEUR.
Interviewer: You wear a lot of hats...but let’s start with the most important ones. How did becoming a husband and father change the way you viewed success?
Interviewer (probe): At what point did you realize that grinding harder wasn’t the answer...but building smarter was?
Interviewer (deep cut): What scared you more:
- Failing in business
- Or succeeding and still not being present for your family?
3. THE HEALTH WAKE-UP (MOLD EXPOSURE)
Interviewer: You’ve been open about mold exposure and how it affected your life. How did that season reshape your priorities?
Interviewer (follow-up): What did chronic illness teach you that no business book ever could?
Interviewer (deeper): When your body forced you to slow down...what truth finally caught up with you?
4. CHANGING CAREERS & BURNING THE BOATS
Interviewer: Career shifts are rarely clean or comfortable. What did walking away from the “safe path” actually feel like?
Interviewer (probe): What doubts did you wrestle with in silence that most people never saw?
Interviewer (truth layer): Did you ever consider quitting...and if so, what stopped you?
5. THE CORE BELIEF BEHIND J2
Interviewer: Finish this sentence honestly: J2 exists because ______________________.
Interviewer (clarity): What do you believe is broken in the online business space that J2 refuses to repeat?
Interviewer (values): What will J2 never do...even if it costs money or growth?
6. THE PEOPLE YOU’RE DOING THIS FOR
Interviewer: When you think about the person J2 is really built for...who do you see?
Interviewer (deeper): What do they feel like at night when the house is quiet and the doubt gets loud?
Interviewer (impact): If J2 does its job perfectly...how does their life look different a year from now?
7. THE DRIVING FORCE
Interviewer: What keeps you building on the days when motivation is gone?
Interviewer (legacy question): Years from now, what do you want your kids to say about the work you did?
Interviewer (final punch): If J2 were taken away tomorrow...what truth would you still stand on no matter what?
8. CLOSING STATEMENT
Interviewer: If someone is burned out, overwhelmed, and questioning whether they’re cut out for this…What do you want them to hear from you...not as a marketer, but as a man?
