I've had a few people ask me what the difference actually is between free and paid .. so let me lay it out clearly, because I want to make sure nobody feels like they're missing something.
Free membership .. what you have right now:
- Community discussions and trip conversations
- Trip announcements and destination posts
- Connect with other solo travelers 45+ and RSVP for meetups and local event
Free is a complete, valid place to be. Nothing gets taken away. Nothing is locked behind a wall that you need to see.
Founding Member — $9/month:
This tier is built around the part that actually trips people up. Not finding a destination. The roommate question. The "is this trip right for me" question. The "I want to go but I don't know where to start" question.
What you get:
- Roommate directory - find a compatible travel partner before you commit to a trip
- Destination planning guides built for solo travelers 45+
- Early trip access before announcements go public
- Monthly live Q&A with me — coming Month 2
- Trip decision vault — coming Month 3
- Door-to-door pre-trip checklist system — coming Month 4
The $9 rate is the floor. It locks in permanently as long as you stay active. As I add features over the coming months, the price for new members goes up. Founding members stay at $9 forever.
One more thing: If you book any group trip through One Step Away, you get Founding Member access FREE for a full year. Resets with every booking.
If the free tier is working for you — stay. You belong here either way.
If $9/month sounds right — the link is in my profile.
