Last week I finished my first build.
I got the body and neck from an Amazon return auction site. It was a kit and really junky components, so I put those aside.
I did most of the shopping on StewMac.
Overwound humbuckers in black w/no cover
500k volume and neck pickup pots
Pot for the bridge pickup is a DTDP push pull pot so i can take it out of phase
Black knobs
I routed everything through one volume knob so I could put a kill switch in.
Kill switch has a purple LED when plugged in
Pure Tone stereo jack. I don't run stereo, but needed it so I didn't need a switch for the kill switch LED
Black locking tuners
Put in black bridge and tailpiece
I used copper tape in the cavity to reduce interference.
Stained it purple with a little sunburst effect. Finished with nitrocellulose lacquer in gloss.
Sounds better than I could have ever hoped.
