📸 Welcome to Photography & OM System Hub! Start Here 👇
Hello everyone, and welcome to our photography sanctuary! I created this space to be the Anti-Discord—no noise, no lost images, just a calm, organized place for us to learn, share, and improve our photography together. Whether you shoot with the latest OM-D or are just starting out, this is your home. 🚀 How to get started (Action Required!) To make this community valuable, we need everyone to participate. Here is your first assignment: 1. Introduce Yourself: Go to the 👋 Welcome & Intros category and tell us your name, what camera you shoot with, and what you want to learn most. 2. Post a Photo: Go to 🖼️ Image Showcase and share one photo you are proud of. 3. Ask for Help: Go to 💡 Critique & Feedback and share a photo you want to improve, or go to 🖥️ Post-Processing if you have a Lightroom/Photoshop question. 📜 Community Guidelines To keep this place valuable, please abide by these rules: - Be Constructive: When giving critique, explain why you think something could be improved (e.g., "The composition feels a bit tight on the right side"). - Give Feedback to Get Feedback: Don't just post; comment on other people's photos, too! - Stay Relevant: Please post in the correct category so others can find your content later. [Insert a warm, inviting image or a short 1-minute welcome video here] I am so excited to see your work and grow with you. See you in the comments! Larry Kurfis

community code
It's not a list of rules, but a set of guiding principles for how we all interact and grow together. 1. Create & Share, Don't Criticize: We are a community of creators, not critics. We believe that everyone's work has value. Share your photos and ask for constructive feedback if you want it, but never provide unsolicited criticism. We're here to inspire each other, not tear anyone down. 2. Teach & Learn: Whether you've been shooting for a day or a decade, you have something valuable to contribute. Share your knowledge, your tips, and your experiences. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even if you think they're "basic." The only silly question is the one you don't ask. 3. Focus on Olympus/OM System: This is our shared passion. All conversations and content should be directly related to the OM System, including cameras, lenses, techniques, and the unique challenges and advantages of our gear. This keeps the community focused, relevant, and valuable for everyone. 4. No Self-Promotion, Only Value: We believe in contributing before we ask for anything. You can share your social media profiles in your introduction, but please don't use the community to promote products, services, or personal channels. We encourage you to share your best work and provide value, and your reputation will grow naturally. 5. Respect the Journey: Everyone here is at a different stage of their photographic journey. Be patient, supportive, and kind. Remember that a welcoming community is a thriving one, and your attitude sets the tone for the entire group.

Helping other photographers
Frequently we see questions similar to; What Camera settings, camera, lens, ... should I buy, use, upgrade and others. The short answer is not that helpful. We need to encourage them to ask better questions. My thoughts of "Asking Better Questions" is in my Blog post. Your thoughts?

Lightroom confusion?
There are 4 versions of Lightroom; Lightroom Classic with the icon LrC. This is where Lightroom began. It doesn't store your images. You import the images to it. The images are on your storage media. The catalog, a relational database, manages information of of your storage media. Lightroom Desktop is basically photo browser which has a "Cloud" and "Local" area, tab. The Cloud browses photos that have been added to the Adobe Cloud. The Local browses photos in connected storage media, internal, external. Lightroom Mobile is you phone, table or similar device. There are 3 major areas. Gallery, Android, for photos taken by your Mobile device; Lightroom which is photos in the Adobe Cloud; Community which is images shared by the Adobe community. Lightroom Web that you can access on any browser by accessing "lightroom.adobe.com" and signing is to your Adobe account. All items in your account. All images in your adobe account that have been added to the Adobe Cloud are visible.0
Macro Photography
A few years ago I traded my Nikon D5500 +$ to purchase a 60mm Micro for my OM-D E-M5 iii. I haven't learned how to use I for Micro. I've read articles, watched videos and not mastered Macro. Maybe this article is the answer. This is the short list; 1. Indoor Inanimate Objects 2. Outdoor Inanimate Objects 3. Slow, Cooperative Subjects I plan to read this article more than once. https://petapixel.com/2025/11/03/handheld-macro-mastery-how-to-capture-stunning-close-ups-without-a-tripod/?olycmp=nws-2026_03_17_PP_Macro_US-em_et-US-link-nala_link-2026_03_17_PP_Macro_US&sfmc_id=216342946&
