🤷🏻‍♂️Play the Game With Your Coach, Not Against Them
Most hitters struggle with this.
Your coach says one thing. You’re working on another.
Here’s how you handle it.
1️⃣. Assume good intent
99.9999% of coaches want you to succeed.
They’re not trying to mess you up.
Even if the info isn’t right for you, the intent is.
Don't fight that.
2️⃣. Know your coach
Some coaches are open. Some aren’t.
If they’re open → have a conversation.
If they’re hardline → don’t battle them.
Play the game.
And when you’re doing well… give them credit.
Even if you’re not using what they said.
Make them feel like they helped.
That buys you freedom.
3️⃣. Find the context
Don’t just reject what they’re saying.
Try to understand it.
Sometimes it’s not wrong…
It’s just explained in a way that doesn’t click for you
Run it through your filter.
Use this community.
Ask questions.
Your job isn’t to be right.
Your job is to get better.
Handle it right, and you keep both:
Your development.
AND your relationship with your coach.
