Was at an amazing restaurant the other day in Leduc.
Very good food, nice atmosphere, yada yada ... only the people sitting at the tables with their families were totally disconnected.
Kids were on their mobile devices, grandma was staring glumly at her coffee after trying to start a couple conversations, the other adults were all on their phones, and in a hurry to finish off and drop their grandma off back home.
There were tears in her eyes, but she quietly said "Ok - I guess everyone's busy".
I had watched them come in, and order - they paid more attention to the menu than to each other, and definitely less attention to the woman who would end up, signaling the waitress to bring her the bill so she could pay. It was her "treat" after all.
Left me wondering ... how many of us are feeling disconnected too?
