A quick tip for protecting skin in incontinent patients 👇🏾
Back when I was working as a CNA, one of the biggest lessons I learned (and still use as a wound care physician today) was this: Don’t wait for the redness to show up. Apply barrier cream before the skin breaks down. Especially with patients who have frequent loose stools or limited mobility, prevention saves a lot of pain later. I’m curious - if you were on clinicals and had a patient with incontinence, what would be your first step to protect their skin?

Hi Everyone!
I’m not a nursing student myself, but I really value the work you all are doing and wanted to quickly introduce myself. I’m Cassandre, a family physician with a focus in wound care. ✨ My goals right now are to keep growing as a teacher and learner while connecting with others who care deeply about patient care. 💡 What drew me into medicine in the first place is the chance to meet people at their most vulnerable moments - and help them heal. Looking forward to learning and sharing here!
Hey everyone!
Hello everyone, my name is Ora and I go to Galen college with nursing and this is my first year at the school. I am currently a nurse extern at HCA hospital.I’m not exactly sure what type of nurse I want to be but I know my goal is to become a nurse practitioner within the next year I plan to Challenge the NCLEX PN to become a LPN while still in school for RN since I graduate June 2027. During that time, I will be able to get a job as an LPN and work better hours and better pay. My biggest reason for becoming a nurse is to not only help People, but create a change that I would like to see in this industry. it is such a pleasant to meet everyone and I can’t wait to chat with you guys.
