Write something
A hard one for the community, because most of us have felt it.
You are at a signing table and something feels off. The signer seems unsure, someone else is doing all the talking, or you get the sense that this may not be fully their choice. Two questions for the community: Have you ever paused or stopped a signing because the signer did not seem aware, willing, or able? What did you notice, and how did you handle it without making the room tense? What is your go to move when a family member is answering for the signer? How do you create a moment to speak directly with the signer? Share your experience below. These are the moments nobody really trains you for, so let’s train each other.
What's one habit that made you a better signing agent?
It doesn't have to be something big. Maybe you started: ✅ Reviewing the package before leaving home. ✅ Confirming IDs during your reminder call. ✅ Double-checking every notarization before leaving the table. ✅ Leaving extra time between appointments. ✅ Reading the instructions before printing. Sometimes the smallest habits make the biggest difference in reducing mistakes and creating a smoother signing experience. 💬 What's one habit you've developed that has improved your signings? Share it below, you might help another notary improve theirs too.
Notary Masters meeting this Thursday 1230 pm July 16, 2026
NotaryMasters meeting this Thursday July 16, 2026 1230 pm EST Hello Fellow Notary Masters, Our theme for this meeting, during America's 250th year, is Route 66. The Mother Road winds through several states, and with so many of us traveling for our summer notary business, it seemed like a fitting follow-up to our recent Americana theme. At the moment we do not have a featured speaker, but I think I can have something prepared if needed. As always, our best meetings come from the experiences and stories that everyone brings to the table. We meet on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Pacific (12:30 p.m. Eastern). Zoom: http://zoom.notarymasters.org We'll have a fun and feisty Rapid Fire Round, and we'll also spend a little time discussing ideas for future speakers, meeting topics, and new members. I look forward to another great mid-summer meeting. Bring your stories. Bring your questions. Most of all, bring yourselves. I'll see you Thursday morning! Speak often. Speak well. Daniel Daniel S. RON
I’m certified by the state to issue RON. When I receive requests for RON from signing services, do I need to use the platform I’m affiliated with, or would they prefer me to use their preferred platform?
The Danger of Assuming: Why Processes Allow No Exceptions
Hi community, I wanted to share a recent situation from my job that reinforces the rule of 'never assuming.' My responsibility includes sending reminders to our notaries to ensure package drops. One of them always does a great job, so I decided he didn't need the reminder that day. Ironically, he missed it on that occasion, which prevented the package from arriving the following day. This experience reminded me that rigorous follow-up is not a lack of trust in a partner, but a safeguard for the system. Maintaining discipline in our tasks is non-negotiable. I'm Marcos Fuenmayor, Tracking Coordinator of The Closing Signing Service.
