Checking in with an important update for all our vendors. I want to make sure you’re aware of a new compliance reminder from DLA regarding shipments, and also invite you to lock in your spot for our upcoming Seminar Series where I’ll walk you step by step through the contracting process.

DLA Vendor Notice: Tracking Devices in Shipments
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) reminds vendors that the use of consumer-grade tracking devices (e.g., AirTags, SmartTags, Tile, IoT or Bluetooth-based trackers) in shipments is not authorized unless approved in writing by a DLA Contracting Officer.
Applies to:
- All DLA vendor shipments
- Government furnished property
- Sensitive shipments
Risks:
- Security compromise of shipment details and locations
- Added burden on DLA to remove and dispose of devices
Vendor Responsibility:If such a device is used, vendors may be required to verify it has been removed from their account.
To stay compliant: Do not include unauthorized tracking devices without prior written approval.
