Can't get the vocals to sit right for the life of me
I laid down some rough vocals for this track and I’m trying to teach myself how to mix/EQ my own voice so I can really understand how it all works. Right now, I’m mostly experimenting and tweaking settings. My current chain looks like this:
  1. Melodyne → GSnap (autotune)
  2. TB Parametric EQ (broad frequency shaping)
  3. TB Compressor
  4. TB DeEsser
  5. TB Parametric EQ (fine adjustments)
  6. LoudMax (leveling)
On the instrumental, I also used TB Parametric EQ to carve out space for the vocals and roll off some lows to fight muddiness.
Still very much learning, but would love any thoughts on the mix or the approach.
