Hey Runners!
I'm Ana and I returned to running a bit more than 2 years. I started running about 12 or 13 years ago. After about three years, I stopped, but I’ve just started again. I ran my first half marathon in February, right where I live, in Barcelona. My next race is the Seville Half Marathon at the end of the year, and I’d like to break 1 hour and 59 minutes.
Running from 11 years of age to 60 plus
Hi all I have run numerous marathons, London 3 times and Manchester Marathon a few times too. I ran a half marathon in the last six months at 1:42 so I have entered the Manchester half in October to get a sub 1:40. I have been a prison officer for 34 years also. Nice to meet you all and be apart of a running community.
very excited
I'm Ruarc, a runner from South Africa. Ive been running for about 2 years and Im pushing for a strong Half marathon in this community! Excited to see what I can learn. I'd like to win a few rewards myself here too 😂
Coming Back from injury
Hi everyone, Well back to the Parkrun here in Mackay again this morning, typical weather for this time of the year, at 7 am temperature was already 26 degrees and humidity 82%. A real sauna out there. Only the 3rd Parkrun back from injury, but showing a little progress. This week I was determined to maintain some pace but run without inserting any walk breaks and managed it. It is hard coming back at this time of the year. Managed to pull back a little time from my last outing 24:57 back to 24:15 so I was reasonably happy with that. And no calf pain. I’m hoping if I have a good week training and the weather is ok I might get back under the right side of 24 minutes as I am definitely feeling a little stronger than I was a month ago when I had that calf blowout just before my 66th birthday. Not great timing 😒. Doing plenty of strength and conditioning work, building the mileage slowly and the mind is definitely in a better place so I'm fairly confident the coming weeks will show an improvement. Will keep you posted Cheers, Michael
Hello community!
Hello community! I just joined. I’m not very experienced, and my running isn’t very structured. In the past, I’ve tried to follow running plans, doing only slow and easy runs, but I still ended up with discomfort around my shins despite maintaining a 170+ cadence and increasing my weekly mileage very gradually. I even started feeling pain once I reached 15–18 km per week, built up from 8 km per week over 8 weeks. I have tried running a couple of times, but always ended it with a very long break because of pain. For the past 8 weeks, I’ve been running 5–6 km per week, and two days ago I set an all-time 5 km PB of 23:08 with a weekly volume of 14 km. I also ride road bikes on the side, so my endurance isn’t completely from scratch. My current goal is to smash a sub-20 5K before the end of the year—without getting injured again. I was expecting the training plans on here to be available to everyone, but apparently they’re only accessible to level 2 or above.
