I wanted to get these dates on your calendar because we have two new LIVE trainings coming to the community. 📅 October 30 Your Young Adult Doesn’t Need More Job Listings — They Need a Path 1pm ET | 12pm CT | 11am MT | 10am PT If your young adult is applying for jobs without knowing what actually fits them, more applications may not be the answer. In this short training, we’ll look at how to help them identify a path—so they can move forward with more clarity and confidence. 📅 November 20 A Simple Strategy to Help Your Child Get Started and Follow Through 1pm ET | 12pm CT | 11am MT | 10am PT If your young adult knows what they need to do but struggles to actually START, we’re going to dig into one of the most practical strategies you can use. What task is hardest for your child to START?
After our recent training on executive functioning and task initiation, I’d love to hear what this looks like in your home. What is ONE task your teen or young adult regularly struggles to get started on? It could be: - Homework or schoolwork - Getting ready in the morning - Cleaning their room - Applying for jobs - Making appointments - Starting chores - Getting off screens - Something completely different Drop yours in the comments. And parents — if someone shares something you’ve dealt with before, jump in and share what has helped in your home. One of the goals of this community is for us to learn not only from the trainings, but from each other.

Job coach?
Hi everyone! My son is coming up on six months since graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was diagnosed with ASD at age five and has been working hard to find his first engineering job, but so far hasn’t received an offer. I’m looking for recommendations for a career/job search coach who has experience working with neurodivergent young adults but also has strong, practical experience with professional job searches, particularly in engineering or other technical fields. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can work with him one-on-one to: ● Review and improve his LinkedIn profile and networking approach ● Help identify appropriate entry-level engineering jobs he may be overlooking ● Review his resume and how he’s tailoring it for specific applications ● Look at his actual job applications and help identify what he could be doing differently ● Provide ongoing guidance, accountability, and interview preparation He’s had several phone screenings and interviews, so he is getting some interest, but we’re trying to figure out what’s missing and how to improve his chances. I’m really looking for someone who can be hands-on with the actual job search process, rather than someone who focuses primarily on general life skills or career exploration. Has anyone worked with a coach or service like this, particularly for a recent college graduate on the autism spectrum? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or experiences you can share.
