As a crochet artist—and especially as a teacher in my local community —the question I get asked most is: "Do your kids crochet, too?"
The short answer? Yes! But the "mom" answer? I let them find their own rhythm.
While all my kiddos have mastered the basics (we’ve made a lot of chains in this house!), I’ve always had a rule: If they aren’t feeling the spark, I don’t push the hook. Creativity should feel like a playground, not a chore!
But today, my "Crochet Momma" heart is absolutely bursting. My oldest first picked up a hook 16 years ago. What started as tiny, super-tightly woven granny squares has evolved into something truly breathtaking. From stunning wearables to intricate earrings and everything in between, seeing their growth and artistic eye develop has been such a gift.
It’s a beautiful reminder that when we plant those seeds of creativity—and give them plenty of room to grow—they eventually bloom into something spectacular. 🌸
