The biggest lie in the nail industry
These tools cannot be washed or disinfected!
Traditional abrasive nail files and foam buffers are made from porous or layered materials that trap nail dust, skin cells and microorganisms within their surfaces and crevices.
Washing removes some visible debris, but it does not prove that microorganisms have been removed or destroyed. Disinfection requires the disinfectant to reach contaminated surfaces at the correct concentration and for the required contact time. 🧼
You cannot reliably guarantee this throughout a porous, layered implement simply by washing it or spraying it with alcohol. Unless a tool has a manufacturer-validated reprocessing method and reuse is permitted by your local regulations, treat it as single-use and discard it after each client.
If you cannot reliably clean and disinfect a tool, you cannot safely reuse it on another client! ❌
