๐ŸŽ‰ Wednesday Win: Have You Heard of the Progress Principle?
Today's idea comes from Teresa Amabile's research on what actually keeps people motivated, and it completely changed how I think about success. Most of us believe motivation comes from the big moments. "I'll feel successful when I launch." "When I get my first sale." "When I hit my income goal." But what if motivation doesn't come from the finish line? Amabile's research introduced The Progress Principle, the idea that one of the biggest drivers of motivation is making meaningful progress, even in small ways. Instead of asking: โŒ "Have I made it yet?" you ask: โœ… "What progress did I make today?" It's a subtle shift, but a powerful one. It moves us from chasing occasional breakthroughs to recognizing the small wins that build momentum. Over the next few Wednesdays, I'd love to explore this idea together through the lens of Income Without Burnout. Not just how we celebrate success... But how do we notice the progress that creates it? ๐Ÿ’ฌ To start us off, finish this sentence in the comments: One win I'm celebrating this week is...

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Who loves to camp?
What do you love most about it? Is it the quiet mornings with coffee outside? The campfire conversations? Sleeping under the stars? Exploring new trails? Cooking outdoors? Or just unplugging from everyday life? Iโ€™d love to hear what keeps you coming back to camping. โ›บ๐Ÿ’š Bonus points for pictures!

Loan Approval ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽŠ
I wanted to share a win with this community because I know many of us are building our businesses one step at a time. I was approved for a $1,000 loan through PARO, an organization that helps women entrepreneurs in Canada access funding when traditional financing can be difficult. The best part? $500 of this first loan is forgivable. I'll repay the remaining $500 with payments of about $60 a month for eight months. If all goes well, I can then apply for a $2,000 loan, with $1,000 of that also being forgivable. For me, this feels like a real breakthrough. At first, I was going to put the money toward a $3,000 landing page. Instead, I hired someone on Upwork to build me a simple landing page for just $200 CAD, and they did a fantastic job. That decision freed up the rest of the money for something even more valuable: buying back my time. Yesterday, I interviewed 4 virtual assistants in two hours! ๐Ÿคฏ I've hired one of them for a six-hour trial over the next two weeks, starting Monday. If we're a great fit, I'll keep them on long after this funding is gone. This feels like one of those small decisions that can create much bigger opportunities down the road. Sometimes growth isn't about working harder. It's about getting the right support so you can focus on the work that only you can do. Here's to first milestonesโ€”and many more to come. ๐Ÿš€
