Recruiting
Step 1: Build Your Target List - Choose 3–5 JUCO programs you’d be excited to attend. - Choose 5 Division 1 programs that fit your level and region. - Choose 2 “stretch” Division 1 programs that would be a big reach but worth pursuing. - Choose 2 lower-level Division 1 programs where you would have a higher chance to play early. Step 2: Create Your Contact PackageEvery email should include: - Enthusiasm and genuine interest in their program. - Current metrics (60-yard time, exit velo, pitching velo, GPA, weight, height). - Links to your highlight video and social profiles (Twitter/X, Instagram). - A direct question about their upcoming Prospect ID Camps or showcases. Step 3: Email Schedule - Send your initial outreach to each school with the contact package. - Follow up once per month with any meaningful updates. Examples include weight gain, improved speed times, increased velocity, academic improvements, or new highlight clips. Step 4: Stay Consistent - Be polite, professional, and persistent. - Keep emails short and easy for coaches to read. - Track which schools respond and continue building those relationships. Step 5: Keep Improving - Continue to train, record updated video, and raise your metrics. - Use each monthly update as a way to showcase growth and development.
