Hey moms. I’m not new here it's just been a while since the last time i've been here, and I wanted to start with the truth. I’m a mom building a career, and both need me in the same hour. That split never really leaves. Guilt follows me everywhere. With my kids, I think of work. At work, I think of the little voice I didn’t fully hear. The mental load never clocks out: school forms, meals, appointments, deadlines, laundry, what’s for dinner, the next step in my career. Deep work is rare. So is an uninterrupted bedtime story. I’ve been losing pieces of myself slowly. The woman I was before motherhood still wants more, but she has less space, less sleep, and less patience. I feel behind. Other people move in a straight line. I measure progress in stolen hours and “I’ll finish this after they sleep.” Some moments don’t come back: a laugh at home, or a meeting that might have changed things at work. Exhaustion sits under all of it. And underneath that is a quiet fear: if I slow down for my family, my career disappears. If I push the career, I become the mother I promised I wouldn’t be. I’m not writing this for pity. I’m writing because I know I’m not the only one. If you’re a mom here, juggling motherhood and building something for yourself, I want to hear you. What ache has been the hardest to evade? The one you don’t usually say out loud. Drop it below. I’ll read every reply.
