Our New Moon at 25° Taurus arrives on Saturday, May 16th, at 1:01pm. This is an invitation to simplify our lives, and to cultivate the things that bring us comfort and joy. When is the last time you sat and watched a bee pollinate a flower? How often do you touch the bare Earth and let it nourish you? This lunation is conjunct Mercury, and its ruler is the Lady Venus in Gemini. Follow your curiosity outside. Is there a landscape you've been feeling called to explore? Go there. Meditate with a tree and ask it a question. Make offerings to your garden and listen for its lessons. Nature is speaking to us all the time. She has the ability to answer every question we have, if we just learn how to listen. When we don't nourish the exalted qualities or Taurus, we may fall into its shadow - fear of change and rigid heaviness. Mercury and Venus in Gemini are reminding us that new things are fun, and our curiosity is a superpower. Jupiter in Cancer is having a supportive influence on this lunation, enhancing our psychic abilities to hear Nature's messages, and reminding us that our hearts know how to listen to the world around us. Spending this time communing with the natural world is healing, and we need that now. At the same time, we have Mars tightly conjunct Chiron in Aries. This can be about facing our fears, releasing old traumas that hold us back, and becoming a more authentic and current version of ourselves. It can also be about healing the way we treat our life force. Do we leak it out to avoid fully becoming? Do we suppress it because we are afraid of our own power? Taurus is embodied life force. Spirit into matter. This is the gift of life itself in a human body on a beautiful planet. I encourage us all to get off our screens and go sit in a place of beauty and remember who we are. Hello Moon Lovers! Here's my write up and our Tarot spread. Feel free to share your readings if that's inspiring to you! Our Full Moon at 11° Scorpio arrives on May 1 at 10:23am PT. Most of my readers will recognize this lands on the common celebration date of Bealtaine (May Day). Bealtaine is a celebration of life returning to the land, and is traditionally celebrated with parties, bonfires, and happy mischief. A Full Moon supports the energy of playful festivities and the manifestation of our creative force. The classical ruler of this lunation is Mars in Aries, in his home sign of adrenaline, vitality, and passion. The bonfires will burn bright indeed! Alas, this is a Scorpio Moon, which illuminates the underbelly of the things that go bump in the night in our subconscious. We may discover some wounds that have been holding us back from the festivities of High Spring. Interestingly, Mercury will be conjunct Chiron in Aries during this lunation, helping us find our voice to advocate for the truest version of ourselves, the part of us we have been afraid to expose but we don't want to hide any longer. The modern ruler of this lunation is Pluto in Aquarius, who wants us all to face our fears and create collective change. Bealtaine and Samhain are twin gateways of life and death. At Bealtaine the gateway opens and life return to the surface, at Samhain the gateway opens and recedes below. Folklore, and my own experience, confirm these are nights that the Faery Folk ride freely in our own world. Magic is afoot. My greatest wish for this Full Moon is that each of us may find our hidden magic within, and declare to all who will listen that we are ready to claim it. There will be a shadow to face. Breathe. Acknowledge it. Honor it in whatever way is called. It will dissipate with your treasure waiting on the other side. Here is my full write up and Tarot spread. We have our sacred sound guided journey on Wed and actual New Moon on Friday. Our New Moon at 27° Aries arrives Friday, April 17 at 4:51am PT. Has there ever been a more Aries time in the history of time? We have Neptune, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Chiron, Sun, and Moon spanning 2-27° Aries and all in the first house at the time of the lunation. The Universe is throwing down the gauntlet to all of us, demanding that we answer, "Who am I? What do I desire most? What am I willing to fight for?". Jupiter is squaring off in Cancer, adding emotional supercharge and probably a good amount of friction from our families. Pluto is in a cheerleading sextile from Aquarius, absolutely thrilled to watch us blow up everything that isn't authentic to who we are meant to be and what we stand for. I would say thank goodness Venus is in soft and stable Taurus to give us some comfort and grounding, but she is rolling up on a conjunction with Uranus, the wild card of our solar system. She doesn't get there until the 23rd, but it's a bit too close for sanctuary. The most important aspect of this lunation? It is conjunct Chiron in Aries. This New Moon is throwing down the gauntlet for us to become the person we were always meant to be, but we have to face our deepest wound to do it. We have to face the harm we have been dealt from taking up space, from being too loud, or too much, or too confident. We have to lovingly face the parts of ourselves that are terrified of being seen and heard. We have to believe in ourselves, no matter who or what has tried to diminish our radiance in the past. Decide. Decide who you want to be, what you want in this life, and what you are willing to fight for. Forgive. Forgive everyone, including yourself, who has ever stood in the way of you fulfilling your full potential. Declare. Out loud. Who are you? What do you stand for? What do you desire? The world is changing. If we stick our head in the sand with the 1,000 ways the powers that be have offered to distract us, we don't get to influence how it is changing. If we choose to be radically present, and take the invitation, we can influence this world to change for the better.
