It might be two dollars,
it might be ten,
it might be something
you’ll never use again.
But somewhere far
from where we stand,
a child is reaching
for a helping hand.
We spend a little
without much thought,
on things we need
and things we’ve bought.
But here’s a chance
to spend and know
that what you give
can help hope grow.
A meal, a book,
a safer place,
a little more light
on a child’s face.
So place your bid,
and if you win,
know something bigger
just happened within.
Because kindness travels
farther than we see,
across the mountains,
across the sea.
And maybe the item
is what caught your eye
but helping a child
is the reason why.
So bid if you can,
give what you’re able,
help put some hope
on another child’s table.
Because changing the world
doesn’t always look big
sometimes it starts
with one little bid.
