"A Dream Come True": My Journey with Grace for Africa 💛" By Biyinzika Joshua When my father first brought those vulnerable children home, he sat us down and told us what was happening. We were so happy to be joined by new brothers and sisters! At first, there were six of them. As kids, we just watched our little household grow bigger and bigger until, over time, it became a well-established sanctuary called Grace for Africa Child Care. I grew up right alongside all of the children. We were truly one family. My father, Pastor Dan, taught us that we had all become one and that he was a father to every single one of us. My mother, Prossy, was a mother to all the children, treating each child as her own. As kids, we received our early education at Grace Community Primary School before it was tragically swept away by a floodstorm. Being at our own school together created the greatest memories of my life—dancing, playing, singing, and praying together before we moved on to higher levels of education. As I kept growing up, I came to deeply understand the precious work my father was doing. A strong passion developed within my soul to help vulnerable orphaned children too. I told my father and mother that when I grew up, I wanted to stand by their side and help them run the orphanage duties. They smiled, promised to pray for me, and let my dream take root. Eventually, I became a Sunday School teacher at our church, teaching the children, training them how to dance and sing, and helping them understand more about God. Every time I stood in front of those children, I felt like my dream was coming true. Today, at 21 years old, I am right where I belong—here at Grace for Africa Child Care, helping my mother and father with daily orphanage duties. I see how great and beautiful it is to help restore hope to children who once felt they had lost everything in life. In this journey, I am so grateful to God in heaven for connecting our family with kind, compassionate people like Elizabeth O'Carroll, Ruth Grace Rose, Richard Knight, Apostle Genesis, and all the precious supporters in our Grace for Africa family.
