One of the biggest mistakes I see new freelancers make is setting their hourly rate too high without any experience or work history on Upwork.
This is a mistake because when you price yourself really high you automatically eliminate yourself for tons of projects in the eyes of the clients.
What I recommend instead:
Set your hourly rate lower to begin with, when you get on a meeting with a client pitch them a fixed rate instead of hourly. This way you don’t even have to use the lower rate (more info on this in my paid community)
Once you have earned some money on Upwork, have good reviews, and history you can bump up your hourly rate.
