Today’s find is a beautiful green Fluorite from Castlegar, British Columbia 🇨🇦.
Fluorite is one of my favorite minerals because of its amazing colors and crystal shapes. This piece has that rich natural green color that really stands out when the light hits it.
Fluorite forms in hydrothermal veins and is often found alongside minerals like quartz, calcite, and sulfides. Around the Kootenays and southern BC, some really nice pieces have been found if you know where to look.
I’ll be heading back out exploring more areas this summer, so hopefully I can uncover a few more pieces like this.
