Human made 🧑‍🎨
You’ve probably noticed how much AI-generated art is flooding our feeds lately. It can feel a bit overwhelming, especially when you’re someone who still gets paint under your nails, glues your fingers together, and wrestles with ideas the slow, honest way. Human made means: - There’s a real person behind every mark, mistake, and happy accident. - The characters, stories, and colours come from lived experience, not an algorithm. - The textures you see are built up over time with collage, paint, fabric, and stitching, layer by layer, decision by decision. I’m not anti-technology by any means; AI tools can be really helpful for brainstorming and admin, but let’s appreciate human hands, human hearts, and human stories when it comes to art. When you engage with art, you’re not just seeing an image. You’re connecting with: - The hours of experimenting, failing, and trying again - The emotional labour of turning feelings into something visual - The intention to create spaces of softness, play, and belonging “I love art from a real studio, a real mess, a real person who cares.” 🧑‍🎨 Let us know what you think 🤔 Xxxx

💕💕 Tape transfer 💕💕
Hello lovely arty people, I hope you had a lovely weekend. Here’s a technique for you to try - tape transfer printing. It’s so easy! 🤪💕 Here’s the gist of it: 1. Stick the tape on an image you like in a magazine or newspaper. Cut out the strip. 2. Soak in water 3. Rub off the paper 4. Use it in mixed media It’s awesome because it gives a lovely see through quality. Have fun if you decide to have a go. I’ve done it a few times and it’s great fun. The images I’ve included aren’t my work, they’re from online, they show how great the technique can look. 🤩

Happy Mother’s Day 💕💕💕
Today’s for the mums you can see… and the ones you can’t. The mums in the thick of sticky fingers and school runs. The grandmothers, aunties, step‑mums and “bonus mums” who quietly hold families together. The carers who mother with their time and their listening, even without the title. And it’s also for anyone who finds today tender, if you’re missing your mum, longing to be a mum, navigating loss, or carrying a complicated story, there’s a place for you here too. 💗 When I paint these soft, curled figures and tiny babies tucked into bodies and blooms, I’m thinking about the unseen work of love: the late‑night worry, the deep breaths, the thousand tiny choices to keep showing up. If Mother’s Day feels loud, give yourself a pocket of quiet. Make a cup of tea, sit by a window, pick up a brush or a glue stick and let your hands play for a few minutes. That tenderness you carry? It’s a kind of magic.
Happy Mother’s Day 💕💕💕
Using a bigger brush
🎨 Try using a bigger brush than feels “comfortable.” When we reach for tiny brushes, it’s often because we want control… but big brushes invite: - looser, more expressive marks - surprising shapes and textures - less overthinking and more feeling Your prompt: Create something today using a brush that feels “too big” for the job. You can: - block in a background - paint a character - add bold, sweeping strokes over a collage Then, in the comments, share: 1. A photo of what you made (even if it feels messy!) 2. One sentence: How did using a bigger brush change the way you painted or felt? Remember: this isn’t about “better” painting, it’s about freer painting. Let the brush be a bit wild and see what happens. Have fun🧑‍🎨🤩🧑‍🎨

Tiny wins
If you only had 10 minutes for creativity today, what could you do? - splash some colour on a page - cut/tear a few collage shapes - stitch a little something on fabric - sketch a quick doodle character Tiny wins count. In fact, they’re how whole bodies of work get made.
